Do you suffer from anxiety, obsessions and compulsions or depression? Are you finding it difficult to cope with life at the moment? Are you struggling in your relationship at the moment, either individually or as a couple? If so, I would like to help.
Counselling provides a safe and supportive space for you to be yourself, without judgement or criticism. Where you can cut through the noise and confusion of everyday life and others' expectations and begin to find your own answers and own truths.
I am a counsellor/psychotherapist, accredited by & registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I offer individual and couples counselling/psychotherapy for adults and young people (aged 17+) and offer both solution-focused/time-limited counselling and longer term therapy. Concessions available for unemployed/low wages, students and counselling/psychotherapy trainees.
My approach is relational (i.e. the relationship between myself and my client is a very important part of the counselling work) and integrative, which means I draw on a number of models, mainly incorporating the existential and person-centred approaches. The existential approach is about assisting you in finding meaning in your life and in working out what's important to you, so you can feel more confident in making choices. The person-centred approach means I work at your pace and only with what you bring, in an understanding and non-judgemental manner. I would work with you as a whole person and not as a problem to be solved.
UPDATE: To support clients during the ongoing global pandemic I now offer sessions using video conference or telephone. For more information please see my “About Me” section below.
After seven years of working in the music and media industries in London, I re-trained and qualified as a counsellor in 2008 with a Certificate in Counselling from wpf, London and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling (with Distinction) from Thames Valley University, Middlesex (now known as the University of West London).
I worked in NHS & primary school settings with both adults & children before moving to West Yorkshire in 2009. I then started providing counselling for a charity for people affected by gambling. I have been in private practice since 2010 and I am now based in Lincolnshire.
To support clients during the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, I now offer sessions via video conference (Skype, FaceTime, Google Hangouts and Google Duo) or telephone.
I am able to offer sessions regardless of your geographical location.
